Welcome to the at-home date night where you can have your very own personal Tiki Bar!
I started this section of the blog because an in-house date night is one of the only ways I can enjoy some adult time with my hubby.
Being so wrapped up with kids, running two businesses, the house, and everything else that makes up our lives makes it SUPER hard to get a date night!
Since we have had such a difficult time finding a sitter for our youngest, the truth is we barely ever go out as a couple anymore. Instead of spending zero time together, we choose to make the best of it and as a solution, we have in-house date nights.
The best thing about an in-house date night is that you can wear what you want, eat what you want, drink what you want, and do what you want. Have a movie night, make a meal together, play video games, set up a candlelit dinner, or get take-out from your favorite restaurant.
To make it a little special, we try to come up with a cocktail for both of us to enjoy together. Since these concoctions always turn out to be incredible cocktails, I figured why not share them with you.
After we have put our youngest to bed, and our two older kids are settled with their movie or activity for the evening, we start our date. It is usually pretty low key, but it always has one thing in common, spending one on one time with each other.
If everything falls in our favor, our oldest keeps an eye on his two younger brothers and we end up having a few minutes to remind ourselves of the reasons we started this incredible family in the first place.
Each Tiki Bar Cocktail Recipe can be made as a virgin drink. I would suggest using club soda, ginger ale, your favorite juice, or just eliminating the alcohol from the recipe altogether.
Which one is your favorite?
